Telkomsat Sinergi Launches Asap Digital Application to Prevent Forest & Land Fires in Jambi
Jambi - In early July, Telkomsat and its parent company, PT Telkom Indonesia, assisted efforts to prevent forest and land fires (karhutla) in Jambi Province by providing a forestry control application called 'Asap Digital'.
According to General Manager Telkom Witel Jambi, Muhammad Zaidan Jauhari through Business Government Enterprise Service Manager, Irsyad said this application was very useful for preventing forest and land fire, Telkom was ready to support forest and land fire prevention efforts in Jambi province.
Asap Digital is an application that contains a variety of the latest information, such as CCTV monitoring, air conditions, hotspots and weather forecast data that can be used for forest and land fire prevention. This application was initiated by the Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of the Jambi Regional Police, Kombes Pol Edi Faryadi, in collaboration with Telkom which is supported by its subsidiaries namely Telkomsat and Telkomsel related to infrastructure and network support.
Muaro Jambi Police Chief, AKBP Ardyanto also welcomed the Asap Digital application to anticipate forest and land fire. Ardyanto said that a few weeks ago, in the Muaro Jambi region, he received information from Dirkrimsus that smoke appeared and was immediately followed up by members in the field heading to the scene of the fire extinguishing. Thus the presence of Asap Digital is very helpful in preventing widespread forest in the Jambi region.
Jambi Province has a lot of plantation land and the majority of land is still flammable peatland. Hot spot monitoring with satellite photo technology from Telkomsat, combined with visuals from CCTV with radio up networks in Telkomsel's tower infrastructure, combined with Digital Smoke applications is very appropriate in controlling forest and land fires.
CCTV from this Telkomsel tower can be used for live auto monitoring - manual zooming, two months playback available (requested), then sensors that can display air temperature, air quality and humidity.
All data will be updated every five minutes to adjust the Lapan satellite control data. In addition, there are also weather forecasts from BMKG for the next two days.
