On July 14, 2021, CEO of Telkomsat Endi Fitri Herlianto had the opportunity to be one of the speakers at the "Interactive Roundtable on ASEAN and INDIA: Charting the New Asian Century". This virtual event was organized by the National Investment Promotion & Facilitator Agency named Invest India.

On this occasion, the CEO of Telkomsat was present along with four CEOs from other ASEAN countries, such as the CEO of CapitaLand India - Vinamra Srivastava, CEO of Atantic Gulf & Pacific Company India - Abhilesh Gupta, CEO of Mettube Malaysia - Ajay Singh and CEO of SCG Thailand - Abhijit Datta. The event which lasted for 60 minutes was hosted by Smt. Sumita Dawra who is also the Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Government of India.

This Interactive Roundtable provides an opportunity for Telkomsat to present issues related to market access in India, especially in the satellite market. In his presentation, the CEO of Telkomsat said that Indonesia is India's main partner in the Southeast Asia Region and Indonesia is the second largest trading country in ASEAN in the 2019-2020 period.

In addition, the collaboration plan based on a high-level agreement between the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo in 2018, is expected to increase economic cooperation in all aspects. One of them is by building a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to bring bilateral relations between Indonesia and India into a new era.

Telkomsat which is part of the Telkom Group and focuses on the satellite business, has been in the Indian market since 2018 with the presence of the Merah Putih Satellite which has coverage in India. Telkomsat has taken various approaches, both G2G and B2B approaches. "We believe that India, which is the seventh largest country and the second largest country in the world, still needs satellites to minimize the digital gap in India," Endi said.

This interactive roundtable activity is also a follow-up to the previous meeting between Telkomsat, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in India and Government Agencies of India. It is hoped that the good relationship between Telkomsat and Invest India will be a good starting point for the Company to enter the Indian market and can increase the profitability and business progress of the Telkom Group.
