Telkomsat and UB Collaborate in Guest Lecture on Satellite Technology and Cyber Security
MALANG - As the leading satellite telecommunications company in Indonesia, Telkomsat held a special guest lecture at the Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University (UB) on 13 October 2023. The guest lecture with the theme "The Role of Computer Science in IT & Cyber Security in Satellite Telecommunications Companies" was held in a hybrid.
GM IT & Cyber Security of Telkomsat, Nugroho Wibisono, was the main resource person in this activity. Starting the material, he gave a comprehensive explanation about satellites, starting from their definition, the types of satellites that have been launched in Indonesia, to how these satellites work. Not only that, Nugroho also explained in more depth about satellite categories based on their satellite orbits, such as Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), and Geostationery Earth Orbit (GEO).
At the next section, GM IT & Cyber Security Telkomsat explained the Implementation of Satellite Technology in the Industrial World. He outlined how satellite technology has influenced various aspects of industry, especially telecommunications. Nugroho Wibisono also provided an overview of Telkomsat's various superior products which have contributed greatly to the development of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia.
At the end of the session, he introduced various works from computer science that had been implemented in satellite companies. Nugroho emphasized the importance of IT applications that support Cyber Security and operational aspects in satellite telecommunications companies. This shows that computer science plays a crucial role in maintaining integrity, security and smooth operations in the satellite telecommunications industry.
