Indonesian Engineers Association Electro Vocational Board (BKE-PII), organized a program of assistance in providing free Satellite Internet services for blank spot schools in Banten and East Kalimantan. Satellite Internet uses the Mangoesky Merah Putih service from PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat), a subsidiary of TelkomGroup.

The schools that received the assistance were the Al-Ihya Kaduronyok Islamic Boarding School, Pandeglang, Banten and SDN 023 Penajam, East Kalimantan.

Ir David Bangun MPU as Chairman of BKE-PII said this assistance was a form of BKE-PII support for the progress of education in Indonesia, especially for schools located in blank spot areas. "It is hoped that this program can help the teaching and learning process to be better and more effective," said David Bangun.

In addition, he added that this program is a concrete example of how an association can contribute to helping the world of education, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic, and it is hoped that more associations and companies will be called to help.

BKE-PII itself is a forum for the Association of Electrical Engineers under the auspices of the Indonesian Engineers Association with one of its main functions is to make studies related to Electrical Engineering in Indonesia.

Endi Fitri, the President Director of Telkomsat, welcomes the assistance of Satellite Internet to schools in blank spot areas. "We are proud that the Telkomsat Satellite Internet service, Mangoesky, was chosen by BKE PII to serve schools in blank spot areas, this shows that Mangoesky products are of high quality."

The assistance distributed by BKE-PII is in the form of providing Mangoesky satellite internet access service with a quota of 10GB per month, with a speed of 6Mbps for 12 months. This assistance is expected to help the teaching and learning process of more than 980 students and 100 teachers at the Al-Ihya Kaduronyok Islamic Boarding School and 212 students and 15 teachers at SDN 023 Penajam.
