Telkomsat Hosts the Inauguration of the Indonesian Satellite Community (MPI)

Bogor - Telkomsat, one of the leading satellite service providers in Indonesia, hosted the inauguration of the Indonesian Satellite Community (MPI) on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Satellite Transmission Control Station of Telkomsat. The event was attended by stakeholders in the national satellite industry, including businesspeople, academics, government officials, researchers, and the public. In addition, the event was made even more special by the attendance of Telkomsat's former President Director for the period of September 2018 - October 2019, Tonda Priyanto, who was accompanied by Telkomsat's Director of Development, Anggoro Kurnianto Widiawan.

MPI serves as a forum for all stakeholders in the satellite industry to exchange ideas and perspectives on the current situation and direction of national satellite development. At the event, participants discussed various important issues in the satellite industry and contributed to the formulation of policies, control, regulation, and supervision in the satellite industry, with the ultimate goal of advancing satellite technology in Indonesia.

Furthermore, the event included a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) session, which was led by two prominent speakers in the satellite industry, Dr. Ir. Adi Sadewo Salatun (former head of LAPAN 2006-2010) and Dr. Arifin Nugroho (former chairman of ASSI 1998-2004). The aim of the FGD was to obtain input from businesspeople and stakeholders in Indonesia as material for formulating recommendations for the national satellite system.

As the host of the event, Telkomsat expressed its commitment to continue innovating and providing the best satellite services for Indonesia. Telkomsat also hopes that this event can be a good momentum for MPI to continue to develop and play its important role in the development of the national satellite industry.
