Jakarta, February 12, 2026 – PT Telkom Satelit Indonesia (Telkomsat) once again reaffirmed its role in strengthening the national satellite industry through its active participation in the Extraordinary General Meeting (RALB) of the Indonesian Satellite Association (ASSI), held in Jakarta. The forum marked an important milestone for ASSI in continuing its organizational consolidation and setting its strategic direction going forward.
During the RALB, ASSI officially entered its new leadership period for 2026–2029. The organization is now led by Risdianto Yuli Hermansyah, who also serves as VP of Corporate Planning & Business Development at Telkomsat. This leadership appointment reflects the members’ trust in his capacity to ensure program continuity while addressing the increasingly dynamic challenges of the satellite industry.
In his remarks, ASSI Chairman for the 2022–2026 period who also serves as Telkomsat Director of Business Development Anggoro Kurnianto Widiawan expressed appreciation for the support and contributions of all members during his tenure. He emphasized that over the past three years, ASSI has faced increasingly complex industry dynamics, ranging from regulatory issues and the development of LEO and non-GEO technologies to the convergence of satellite and non-satellite systems.
“In recent years, we have faced various industry dynamics, both in terms of regulation, the development of LEO technologies, and the convergence of satellite and non-satellite systems. ASSI remains committed to serving as an interface for its members to align positioning, foster collaboration, and strengthen the independence of the national satellite industry,” he stated.
He also highlighted the importance of supporting national capacity building, including the development of young talent, transparent organizational governance, and efforts to safeguard Indonesia’s space technology sovereignty amid increasingly open global competition.
Meanwhile, ASSI Chairman for the 2026–2029 period, Risdianto Yuli Hermansyah, emphasized that the leadership mandate entrusted to him represents a significant responsibility that requires the active participation and collaboration of all members to further advance the national satellite industry.
“This mandate is a great responsibility that requires the participation and collaboration of all stakeholders. ASSI must serve as a platform for synergy among all industry players not only to strengthen technological independence and remain adaptive to global developments, but also to ensure industry sustainability so that satellite businesses in Indonesia remain relevant and competitive. With a strong commitment to strengthening the domestic industry and solid collaboration across the ecosystem, we are optimistic that the satellite industry can become a strategic pillar in realizing Indonesia Emas 2045,” he said.
For Telkomsat, its involvement in ASSI’s leadership is part of the company’s commitment to actively contribute to the development of Indonesia’s satellite and space industry. Through this role, Telkomsat aims to foster synergy, promote sustainable industry governance, and strengthen Indonesia’s position within the regional and global satellite and space ecosystem.
